In France alone, officials estimated roughly 5,764 excess deaths during the heat โ the country’s worst heat mortality since the catastrophic 2003 heatwave. Across Europe, EuroMOMO data pointed to more than 10,000 excess deaths, with over 9,000 of them among people aged 65 and older.

Let’s be precise, because precision saves people. Heat exhaustion is the warning shot โ heavy sweating, dizziness, nausea, a pounding headache.
